Signing off from Chicago
The time has come for everybody to depart from Chicago, as the show has come to its conclusion. It was great seeing everybody here and thanks for stopping by and saying hi. For those who couldn’t make it, I appreciated all the comments and hope you enjoyed getting a feel for the show, even if you weren’t in person.
If you didn’t get a chance to stop by or leave us a comment, drop me a line at Steven.Harlan@ge.com. Check out our educational offerings at www.ge-energy.com/onelessworry and be sure to come back to our blog and revisit the Powder and Bulk Solids experience!
Feel free to continue adding comments and give us feedback on what you thought of this live blogging experiment. We want to continually improve, so let me know what else could be covered at other in-person experiences.
Although this is my last post from Chicago, be sure to check back in a few days for another post or two. We had a great time here and I want to be sure I wrap everything up.
Time for Oceana and I to depart. Thanks and good night everybody!

Filtration products acceptable for NFPA and food contact
With the last day of the show, traffic is just light enough to sneak a few minutes with product line leader, Brian Vancrum, and Robin Strobl, key account manager for pleated projects, who discuss a few hot topics for process industries and OEMs.

Another Great Day from Chicago
Well, that’s a wrap on another busy day from the Windy City. We met a lot of great people and heard lots of good thoughts and ideas. I hope this is giving you a flavor of the show, even if you can’t be here in Chicago.

Oceana meets a robot
We have seen some amazing sights walking the tradeshow. Machines, solutions and anything related to powder and bulk technologies is here. As part of Oceana's training, she needs to see and experience every possible sight and sound. The shiny grand piano at the hotel makes her nervous, but this robotic conveyor doesn't seem to phase her!

Puppy Time
We're nearing the end of our day, and its nice to take a break and enjoy good company and a little puppy play time. Here is Oceana making some new friends from Virto/Elcan.

Membrane filtration
It's just after lunch at the tradeshow, but our booth has been too busy for a bite! With lots of great discussions, expert technical advice and puppy pats, booth #1344 is a popular place.
I had heard a lot of discussion on membrane technologies and what it can do in dust filtration. I grabbed Jim and a special guest, product line leader, Brian Vancrum, to get some expert advice.

What’s new at the booth this year?
We have an entire section devoted to our technical training programs, which we feel provide attendees with helpful, useful knowledge they can put to use right away. You can sign up for an online webinar or an in-person seminar, held at locations around the country. Or you can send me an email if you need more detail about educational opportunities specific to your company.
I didn’t know GE sold fabric filters. When did this start?
GE was founded more than 120 years ago, and GE businesses have been in filtration for 40 years. What started with Thomas Edison now reaches worldwide, and we’d be happy to talk specifically about fabric filters, our history and our role in this global industry.

Understanding Can Velocity
The show is in full swing! Already dozens of attendees have come by to hear about dust collection solutions. Oceana, the service dog in training who goes everywhere with me, is adjusting well to all the machines and people traffic!
I caught up with Jim Plummer on a free moment to ask him what he had been discussing. Turns out it was an important topic that not everyone understands, can velocity!
